[Monday Minute] Own your biz assets

Happy Monday, Reader and welcome to the Monday Minute!

First, an announcement:

For my brick-and-mortar business owners who want to launch their first online offer and get started with online business and get all of the coaching, strategy, and systems in place to do so:

I'd love to invite you to join the interest list for The LextroMind! Applications will open next week.

The LextroMind is an exclusive, high-touch, 9-month mentorship that I run with The Movement Maestro that combines online business coaching and done-with-you tech solutions to help brick-and-mortar health and wellness business owners launch their digital products and services.

We promise that at the end of our 9 months together you will have successfully run your first launch and integrated all of the tech and systems needed to run any future launches. We are certain that once you learn these methods and have your systems in place, it’ll be as simple as rinse and repeat.

While you're on the info page, check out the testimonials from the first cohort to learn more about what you can expect while you're in The LextroMind.

Today I have a simple message for you and something I want you to always keep in mind when it comes to your website and your domain name (your www. name), two of your most important business assets.

Your website domain and your website should be owned by YOU. Not the person who built your website and not a domain management company, but you.

You should know the login credentials and be able to access the backend of these biz assets.

You should be able to add and take off administrators on the account.

Your credit card should be paying for those assets (and you should therefore own and have access to them).

These are two VERY important pieces of real estate in your business that you should never give away ownership of.

If you work with a company that wants to manage your assets, always make sure that you're the account owner of everything. Otherwise, you are giving up ownership of two very important business assets, especially your domain name, which is one of a kind.

While this may seem like a *duh* moment, I have heard too many stories from folks who can't access their own websites/domains and need to call an outside company, email an account manager, etc. before they can have access. (Huge red flag 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩)

If you don't own your assets, your homework is to get on that.

Have a great week!
Lex

Happy Monday, Reader and welcome to the Monday Minute! I learned a concept in grad school called "The Spoon Theory" from a patient I treated who had multiple sclerosis (MS). You can read more about The Spoon Theory here (please do). In short, the concept was coined by writer Christine Miserandino, who was living with a chronic illness. She used "spoons" to depict her finite amount of energy each day to live her life and complete the necessary daily tasks from eating and getting dressed to...

Happy Monday, Reader and welcome to the Monday Minute! Today, I want to share a DM I received from a friend on Instagram. As you may or may not know, I have monthly done-for-you SEO services and as a part of that service, I write blogs for clients. I enjoy it so much because I get to help my clients get found on Google but I also get to use my physical therapist brain (I know most people in my ecosystem know that I am trained as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, but I also have others tell me...

Happy Monday, Reader and welcome to the Monday Minute! Today I wanted to remind you about testing your processes. On a coaching call last week, one of my clients was confused about what the consumer experience would look like and "hoped" that it was good. The good news: you don't have to guess when it comes to this stuff. EVERYTHING can be tested. Whether you're a brick-and-mortar business owner or an online business owner, I can bet you have some sort of process you have each of your clients...
