Monthly Minute [New!]

Hey there Reader!

Starting something NEW this month and it's called the Monthly Minute.

The goal: a quick, one-minute informational read 1x/month. If you like these, I might drop in more than 1x/month, but we're going to start with one here. My ask: let me know if you enjoy these emails. I'd love to hear from you.

Without further ado, let's jump into this Month's Minute!

Topic: Addresses and Locations & Your Website

The why: we want to make it easy for people to know where they can work with us. They shouldn't need to play hide and seek to find this information on your website. It's also great for SEO (getting found on Google).

Brick and mortar business owners: make sure your location is in THREE places on your website (at least, these ones are the musts):

  1. The first section of your home page — this is called the "hero" section of that page. You should have the "city, state" where you practice in this space along with any other copy.
  2. Your footer: please make sure you have your WHOLE address here, exactly as it is written on your Google My Business account.
  3. Your contact page: your whole address should be here, ideally next to some sort of contact form.
  4. Bonus: place it somewhere on your "instagram link-in-bio" page that you've created on your website. It's extremely helpful for those who find you on IG, if that's how they find you. And while you're at it, have your practice location in your Instagram bio, too.

If your business is in your home, opt to just have "city, state" in these locations. If you're a mobile practice owner, "city, state" or a region you practice in should be your go-to.

Online business owners: just make it known that you work with clients remotely/online, especially in your home page hero section. Your footer and contact page matter less, but it certainly doesn't hurt to place the information there as well.

Hybrid in-person/online biz owners: say exactly that. You work with folks in xx area as well as remote/online.

Homework: go check your website. Is it easy for someone who finds you to know exactly where you practice or where they have to be located to be able to work with you? Change and add things accordingly.

Alrighty, that's all I've got for you.

Happy Monday, Reader and welcome to the Monday Minute! I learned a concept in grad school called "The Spoon Theory" from a patient I treated who had multiple sclerosis (MS). You can read more about The Spoon Theory here (please do). In short, the concept was coined by writer Christine Miserandino, who was living with a chronic illness. She used "spoons" to depict her finite amount of energy each day to live her life and complete the necessary daily tasks from eating and getting dressed to...

Happy Monday, Reader and welcome to the Monday Minute! Today, I want to share a DM I received from a friend on Instagram. As you may or may not know, I have monthly done-for-you SEO services and as a part of that service, I write blogs for clients. I enjoy it so much because I get to help my clients get found on Google but I also get to use my physical therapist brain (I know most people in my ecosystem know that I am trained as a Doctor of Physical Therapy, but I also have others tell me...

Happy Monday, Reader and welcome to the Monday Minute! Today I wanted to remind you about testing your processes. On a coaching call last week, one of my clients was confused about what the consumer experience would look like and "hoped" that it was good. The good news: you don't have to guess when it comes to this stuff. EVERYTHING can be tested. Whether you're a brick-and-mortar business owner or an online business owner, I can bet you have some sort of process you have each of your clients...
